    Joe Coulter served in the Army Reserves for 23-years, retiring as a Warrant Officer Class 2, from the 253 Medical Regiment based in Belfast, in May, 2017. He is currently on SaluteMyJob’s Ethical Hacking Course, a pioneering pathway, designed to support members of the Armed Forces community on their journey towards a promising and exciting career in roles where employers face a significant skills shortage.     Rebecca Thomas had a distinguished 10 year career in the Army. She served in the Intelligence Corp, deploying to Afghanistan four times during her career. On deployment in Afghanistan, Rebecca’s main role was as an Intelligence Analyst and De-briefer, working within the Intelligence Exploitation Facility directly supporting UK Special Forces, as well as supporting the International Security Assistance Force Human Intelligence mission. Rebecca left the Army in November 2016 and has since found the resettlement period challenging. She is currently teaching, but thanks to a course ran by SaluteMyJob, IBM and the Corsham Institute, her ambition to forge a career in cybersecurity has been reignited.

    The former Electronic Warfare Systems Operator found himself with little time to prepare and said he didn’t have a plan for when he left as he really didn’t know what he wanted to do. After taking an IT test at a recruitment agency, he realised this could be a pathway into a career that would suit him. A move from Plymouth to Nottingham saw him working within the data team at Experian. And a job at Boots Head Office saw him working alongside IBM Project Managers where he soon realised ‘he could do their job’ - and that is how he found himself in an IT career.

    Neil Luke is a former Sergeant in the Royal Marines who left in 2015 after 13-years of exemplary service.
