Health & Safety Officer - Housing Association

Location: Coalville, Leicestershire
£26,183 - £30,093 dependent on experience.

Role Summary

This is an exciting opportunity for a Health and Safety Officer to assist the Group Health and Safety Manager with a comprehensive review of safety management systems.  The post holder will work closely with the business to drive and support the development of these systems to achieve the ISO 45001 standard.

Our client is actively interested in considering suitably qualified ex-military for this role.

  • Working with operating teams to review and develop risk assessments & safe operating systems etc.

  • Providing competent health and safety advice to the business.

  • Auditing and monitoring health and safety compliance.

  • Undertake and report on safety compliance audits.

  • Providing management information.

  • Promoting and embedding a positive and proactive Health and Safety culture.

  • Incident investigations

Skills & qualities

  • A sound working knowledge of H&S legislation and regulations.

  • Good inter-personal and communication skills.

  • Demonstrate excellent ICT skills.  

  • Good organisational and time management skills.

  • Able to meet deadlines.

  • Enthusiasm and vision to work towards embedding a positive integrated health and safety culture.

Experience & qualifications

  • Experience of working within a customer facing and In House Maintenance Service. Parallel military experience will suffice.

  • Familiarity with RoSPA QSA programme would also be an advantage.  

  • NEBOSH National Diploma in occupational health and safety (or equivalent), and the ability to travel between sites
