Salary: circa £45,000
Our client is the largest train operating company in the UK with more passengers, more trains and more staff than anyone else in the country. They have very ambitious plans to improve the infrastructure, technical capability and capacity of all their rail lines.
Our client is seeking a dynamic ex-military person, with management experience and excellent interpersonal skills to work for the country’s largest rail company. The successful candidate will provide a training and assessment service to ensure that fleet engineering staff are competent to carry out their duties and responsibilities.
Develop and deliver high quality, effective training courses as required
Responsible for the provision all documentation relating to training courses
Carry out competency assessments as required by the competency management system
Responsible for training Fleet staff in all technical aspects of rolling stock plant and equipment
Work with line managers to develop individual coaching plans for staff
Report all completed training and competency assessments within the required timeframe
Undertake special projects at the discretion of the Chief Engineer
To enable you to undertake this role you will need to possess (or complete within six months of appointment) a C&G Trainer Techniques Qualification (or equivalent); possess (or complete within 12 months of appointment) an A1 Assessor Award or equivalent.
Good numeracy and literacy skills
I.T literate (using Microsoft, Word, Excel and Access)
Excellent organisation skills
Excellent interpersonal skills
Knowledge and experience working on traction & rolling stock - or equivalent military qualifications and experience in training and engineering is essential.
