Severn Trent Water is one of a significant number of employers following up on their Armed Forces Covenant pledges with a range of activities directed at veteran jobseekers. As part of the company's campaign to attract ex-military engineers and project managers, they held 2 open days at the Headquarters in Coventry on 8th and 9th Sep.
Targeted at internal applicants and ex-military jobseekers, a variety of speakers from Severn Trent's Asset Creation business gave an overview of the water business, Severn Trent and the capital programme they are delivering.
Charlotte Nicholson, HR Resourcing Manager from Severn Trent Water said: 'We are excited by the opportunity to attract ex-military talent into the business. We have a number of ex-military employees, who perform strongly across the business. They have directly transferable skills - both hard and soft - and we welcome their expertise, team spirit and 'can-do' attitude in Severn Trent Water.'
David Olusile, one of the ex-military candidates who attended the event said: 'It was very useful to learn more about Severn Trent Water and speak to business leaders, hiring managers and representatives of the HR team. The are very committed to hiring ex-military people, who I feel would be welcomed into their team.'
