SaluteMyJob were invited to attend the Career Transition Partnership’s Employment Fair at the Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh on Thursday. (27th April)
Throughout the day employers were able to network with a large number of Service leavers and promote current vacancies within their organisation.
Small regional organisations to large multinational businesses, from across many different industry sectors attended the fair, including Virgin Money, GSK and Sky.
CTP Employment Fairs are a great opportunity for employers to meet with a large number of Service Leavers and allows employers to find out about the skills and experience Service Leavers can offer their organisation.
The Scottish Veterans’ Commissioner, Eric Fraser, opened the event in Edinburgh. The employment fair came just a day after SaluteMyJob updated their Armed Forces Covenant pledge. SaluteMyJob originally signed the Armed Forces Covenant last year but wanted to further commit to a number of new pledges to further support employers, veterans, reservists and the MOD. SaluteMyJob’s pledge to work with the CTP to support veterans into employment, as well as the pledge to participate in military job fairs for Service Leavers at least twice a year, were among a number of new commitments.
Andrew Jackson said: “The new location for the CTP Job Fair, at Murrayfield, made for an excellent venue. SaluteMyJob is keen to work increasingly closely with CTP and I much appreciated the opportunity to visit the job fair, which was beautifully organised and well attended by both employers and jobseekers.”
The next CTP fair will be in Newark on Tuesday, May 23rd. Click here for more details.
