How businesses can win the war on talent

EMPLOYERS in Devon and Cornwall are being invited to a special event to find out how their business could benefit from talent streams flowing in from the Armed Forces.

'Winning the War on Talent', organised jointly by the University of Exeter, The British Army and South West Growth Service, will highlight how service leavers could fill the skills gaps affecting 14% of UK employers (The UK Commission’s Employer Skills Survey 2015).

SaluteMyJob managing director, Brigadier (Retd) Andrew Jackson is among the guest speakers at the event which takes place on Thursday 30th November, at Wyvern Barracks, Barrack Rd, Exeter

Other speakers include Chris Lorimer, director of the South West Growth Service, Harry Williams of The Clickhub and Robert Camp of Stephens and Scown.

The event will also include a networking lunch held in the officers’ mess at Wyvern Barracks, a tour of the barracks and a visit to the shooting range.

Places are limited to 50. Registration and payment of £15 will need to be provided to secure your place at the event. Visit www.exeter.ac.uk/careers/employment-services/recruit/internships/winningthewarontalent/ for more information and details on how to reserve your place at the event.
