Role summary

Our client is actively recruiting veterans to become an Inspection Repair Technician. As the Inspection Repair Technician, you will contribute to the effective operation of the Association's Motoring Services Business by undertaking inspections. You will be required to undertake vehicle checks and report findings accurately. Some items we find to be faulty, or out of manufacturer limits, we will repair on site. 

Key responsibilities

The client is in the early stages of delivering a new and important contract for a nationwide car dealer which relies on the thorough 128 point survey to assure potential buyers of the car dealerships used cars. The inspection is a bit like a combination of an MOT and a pre-delivery inspection. You will need to have good business acumen to be able to convey our findings in a suitable manner for the customer and be able to undertake these repairs in a safe and effective manner. You will also provide advice and assistance within your own area of competence, ensuring that in other cases where Members require assistance they are directed to the appropriate service or department.

You will also contribute to the effective operation and commercial benefit of the business by providing a vehicle Mechanical Report to the business customers/organisations when requested to do so. 



Key requirements

Inspectors will have a wide knowledge of private and commercial vehicles and their systems, including aircons, infotainment systems, cruise controls etc, all of which have to be tested. This is just as important as the ability to detect a worn wheel bearing.

Ability to perform repetitive tasks thoroughly and carefully is vital as the quality of each and every inspection is critical. Inspectors will not be responsible for repairing faults.
