Vehicle Assessment Technician Team Leader

Role Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a former Service man or woman to join one of the UK’s leading motoring organisation as a Vehicle Assessment Technician Team Leader. The role is to ensure that a quality, professional and effective assessment of business customers vehicles is provided by you and your team. You will be working for a veteran friendly organisation with a long history of working with the MOD. You will receive IOSH training and will get an IMI L2 certificate.

Shift working required.

To be eligible to apply you will ideally live within 45 minutes of the site location.

The Company

Our client is a nationwide breakdown cover provider for its 15 million members.

Role Responsibilities

  • Carrying out vehicle checks to a high standard and providing business customers with Vehicle Mechanical Reports.

  • Undertaking initial investigation work where complaints and claims have been made against the client.

  • Attending meetings with the operational manager as requested to provide updates and proactively seek to improve site performance.

  • Creating reports to analyse staff performance.

  • Ensuring business customers have been provided with a Vehicle Mechanical Report.

  • Ensuring the customers site is compliant with any specific Health and Safety instructions and PPE issued equipment is used as required.

  • Maintaining a high level of knowledge of automotive systems, ensuring that all equipment is used efficiently.

Key Requirements & skills

Essential:

  • Mechanical qualifications at Level 3 City and Guilds or Level 3 NVQ in mechanics or equivalent military training and experience

  • Able to work out doors in all weathers

  • Driving licence with 6 points or less

Desirable:

  • Previous inspection or appraisal work

  • Previous MOT experience

  • Willingness to progress

  • Ability to work independently and as part of an on site team

  • Ability to work with workers from other companies on the same working site

  • A good standard of Literacy and Numeracy

  • The ability to work flexibly when workload is high
