Role Summary

A great opportunity has arisen to work in the heart of a national Security Operations Centre that provides leading edge security to its government and commercial clients. As a Security Engineer your role will focus around the support of a variety of security tooling. The successful ex-military candidate will be tool agnostic, adaptable, methodical and most importantly have the ability to function within a large team acting as a mentor for junior staff.

Key Responsibilities  

  • Responsible for maintaining engineering documentation and its relevance

  • Act as an SME in at least one of the following fields where you will be responsible for innovation;

Firewalls (HW/SW & Policy)

IDS/IPS’s (HW/SW & Policy)

Identity and Access Management (HW/SW & Policy)

Anti-Virus (HW/SW, Policy & Deployment)

PKI

SIEM (HW/SW & Use Case Development)

DLP

Cloud Architecture (Azure/AWS or IBM Cloud)

Automation

  • Delivery of Daily Objectives including but not limited too;

Client Contractual Requirements

Analytical Suggestions Review

  • Delivery of Weekly Objectives including but not limited too;

Device Checks

Reporting

Change Management (CABS)

  • Responsible for building and maintaining both UKSOC and Client infrastructure attending site/data centers were required

  • Act as a mentor for Junior Security Engineers

Key Requirements

  • Full experience within at least 1 of the types of technologies below and experience within another 3;

Firewalls (HW/SW & Policy)

IDS/IPS’s (HW/SW & Policy)

Identity and Access Management (HW/SW & Policy)

Anti-Virus (HW/SW, Policy & Deployment)

PKISIEM (HW/SW & Use Case Development)

DLP

Cloud Architecture (Azure/AWS or IBM Cloud)

Automation

  • 2 or more years working with a ‘Cyber Security’ environment

  • Must hold or be able to obtain UK SC or DV clearance security clearance.

  • Successful application of clearance is required for probation success.

  • Desired; 5 or more years working with a Cyber Security environment as an engineer supporting multiple technologies

  • Leadership experience
