Role Summary

SaluteMyJob are looking for an experienced recruitment consultant with excellent communication skills. The role will involve supporting and evaluating ex-military candidates, managing them through the recruitment process by exploring their skills and helping translate these into language suitable for commercial organisations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Achieves objectives by supporting and evaluating candidates; managing ex-military candidates through the recruitment process by exploring their skills and helping translate these into language suitable for commercial organisations.

  • Advising hiring managers regarding appropriate transferable military skills.

  • Determines applicant requirements by studying job description and job qualifications.

  • Advises candidates on CV readiness and job appropriateness. Supports candidate through additional CV preparation, research and required training needs.

  • Determines applicant experience by interviewing applicants; online assessments, analysing responses; verifying information.

  • Arranges management interviews by coordinating schedules.

  • Preparing candidates for interview process by running mock interviews and guidance around salary negotiation.

  • Work with marketing team to attract applicants by placing job advertisements; contacting partner agencies, social media and job sites.

  • Avoids legal challenges by understanding current legislation.

  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications.

  • Maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organisations.

  • Supporting candidates at events and job fairs through networking and CV workshops.

Key Requirements

Essential

  • Previous recruitment consultant experience in a commercial environment.

  • Excellent interviewing skills.

  • Proactive with the ability to prioritise workload and plan ahead.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

  • Team player.

  • Ambitious, enthusiastic and a thirst for learning.

  • Adaptable, resourceful and flexible.

  • Organised with good attention to detail.

Desirable

  • Experience of working in a Recruiter role in a military environment.

  • Sales experience would be an advantage.
