LGV Technician - Shepton Mallet

Location: Shepton Mallet
Salary: £34,034pa, based on 42.5 hours per week

Shift basis Week 1 Mon-Fri 06:00 – 15:00 / Week 2 14:00 - 21:30, Saturdays 06:00 – 14.30 plus call out rota.

Role Summary

If yes, we want to hear from you! As an LGV Technician you will be working on high spec, 420 bhp Scania trucks and the role is a key position within our client’s business.

The Company

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnosing and fault finding of any issues with the vehicles and trailers.

  • Ensure all vehicles & trailers are maintained in accordance with manufacturer’s specifications, especially in relation to oil change parameters.

  • Ensure all parts are booked out correctly.

  • Ensure all legal documents are filled out accurately and on time and are readily available for processing.

  • Booking out time for each job that is carried out and the relevant paperwork given to the Workshop Controllers.

  • Ensure that best practice is always employed in relation to component replacement; repair duration; document completion.

  • Provide support and assist the workshop controller to meet and surpass all agreed targets.

  • Maintain a clean and tidy workplace environment.

  • Due to the nature of the role, Health and Safety and Safe Systems of work are paramount.  You must ensure that you are following the company’s health and safety policy at all times.

Key Requirements

  • Qualified LGV Technician up to Level 3 (Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and repair)

  • 4 years previous experience required - or relevant military experience.

  • Intuitive diagnostic skills.

  • Ability to carry out PMI to DVSA standards.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Ability to work to deadlines and under own initiative.
