Are you an NCO with previous experience managing contractors’ contracts on an MOD or other site? Are you passionate about ensuring delivery of work to high standards and in accordance with the contract, as well as managing good relationships with clients? Our client is looking for dynamic and talented Contract Managers, ideally, with experience in managing grounds maintenance or facilities management work. It offers a UK wide service that includes grounds maintenance, winter maintenance, tree works and vegetation management, soft and hard landscaping, ecology, design & build, pest control and fencing and is the contractor of choice for many well-known private and public organisations, including the MOD.
The Contract Manager is at the heart of our client’s business and the successful applicant will join a team of up to 40 Contract Managers across the United Kingdom, reporting to five Regional Operations Managers. You will deliver consistent high quality grounds maintenance services alongside acquiring additional business. The Contract Manager’s management of field teams and directly employed staff will be a critical success factor to delivering grounds maintenance work on-time to the specified standard.
Recruiting and training Field Teams in ways of working and expected quality standards
Daily quality monitoring of Field Teams’ work
Line management and performance management of directly employed staff
Effectively build and maintain client relationships
Providing management reports
Develop successful working relationships with local client decision-makers
Accurately price new maintenance sites under tender.
Contract management experience or involvement
Flexible and good at problem solving
Self-starter and willing to use your initiative.
Ability to manage a team.
Able to work remotely and unsupervised at times.
Sound relationship building and negotiation skills
Desirable where possible:
Two to three year's practical work experience in landscaping or grounds maintenance
Two to three year's management experience
Further education, ideally in Horticulture
