The NHS in conjunction with The Royal Foundation and Walking With The Wounded, has designed the first access pathway from the military into the numerous career opportunities available in the NHS.
The NHS is the largest employer in the country with over 300 different career opportunities, including many non-clinical roles, including facilities (including catering, portering, electrical, plumbing, management), administration, management, finance and many more.
The Step into Health Programme provides bespoke work attachment packages of up to 4 weeks for Service leavers and veterans to explore the extensive career opportunities available. Following completion of the attachment, candidates will have access to a guaranteed interview for posts they apply for within the areas they have experienced. The programme is open to all Service leavers and Veterans.
In 2014 Step into Health ran its first pilot with the Norfolk & Norwich University Trust. 80% of those veterans who completed a work placement went on to either secure employment within the NHS or move into further education leading to a career in healthcare.
At our Information Days you will have the opportunity to meet staff, hear from previous attendees of the programme and learn more about life within the NHS.
